Unprofessional

I have clearly had a very different experience with this attorney than everybody else. I retained Jacqueline Simpson's services back in the end of June. At our first meeting, she was nearly an hour late, which should have deterred me, but she seemed nice, so I decided to proceed. I have some credi...t card debt, however my largest concern is two very large private student loans. She did explain to me that it depends on my individual contract whether or not these can be removed. I gave her my information and we agreed to meet the next week to finish filing. I emailed her prior to the meeting to find out about the student loan's and her response was, "We'll talk about it when we meet". Unfortunately, my father passed away unexpectedly prior to our meeting. I found out I would be getting a small amount of life insurance, however it's not enough to even cover funeral costs. You'll lose something in a bankruptcy". I certainly don't need my lawyer to coddle me, but I also feel that was a very unprofessional response. I responded my basically telling her that I'm due to have a baby in September and now I'm dealing with the stress of handling my dad's estate, so this may not be the right time to do this. She told me that I had up to six months to file and to contact her after the baby was born and things have settled. Flash forward to this week and things have really escalated. She's emailed me four times in the past week requesting a status update. I explained today that I wanted to wait until next month and I feel that she's pressuring me. She doesn't answer any questions I have. She only wants to meet and file. She got extremely defensive and said, "It's been nearly 3 months, excuse me for contacting you, but you called me wanting to file bankruptcy. I have a busy law practice, a life, health issues, and a family with two children of my own." Our emails have escalated and I've decided not to continue with her services. She has me so upset, that I've printed our entire email conversation and will be printing out the text messages.

At The MacSim Firm we go above and beyond to assist our clients as we are very thankful and appreciative of their business. We answer client inquiries in a timely manner when asked. We are available by phone, text and email. If you are experiencing financial distress and you need legal assistance call us, we can help. Tanya H. - The MacSim Firm began representing this client in late May not June. After consulting with her in person, speaking with her by phone, text and email, paying the fees for her credit counseling class and starting her paperwork she demanded a refund on a non-refundable deposit so that she could hire her father's probate attorney to prepare and file her bankruptcy case. We tried to work with her and she refused on multiple occasions. - Attorney Simpson

Easy to work with and caring

I contacted the MacSim Firm after I was sued by Midland Funding for an old credit card debt. Attorney Simpson was knowledgeable and caring and she was able to get the credit card case thrown out because Midland Funding couldn't prove I owed the money. She was also able to stop all the collection agen...cy phone calls I was getting. When I decided to file for bankruptcy, she helped me get rid of my credit card and medical bills and I was able to keep my home.
