Stephen Earl Renick

I’m Stephen (Steve) Renick, and I’ve been practicing law since 1987, focusing my career on workers’ compensation and standing up for the rights of injured workers throughout Florida. My path in law began at the University of Miami, where I graduated with honors in 1982 with a degree in Business Administration. I continued on to earn my Juris Doctor, graduating with honors from the University of Miami School of Law in 1986—all while working full-time as an International Financial Manager for a major national corporation. Balancing work and law school was demanding, but it shaped the discipline and work ethic I carry with me to this day.

I began practicing workers’ compensation law in 1989, and since then, I have devoted myself to being a warrior for injured workers. For more than 30 years, I’ve handled virtually every type of work-related injury imaginable. Over time, I’ve built a reputation among attorneys and judges across the State of Florida as someone who will fight tirelessly to ensure my clients receive every benefit they are entitled to under the law. Protecting the rights of workers isn’t just my profession—it’s my calling.

Beyond my law practice, I’ve dedicated much of my life to mentoring and educating future legal professionals. For 23 years, I served in Miami-Dade County as a high school Mock Trial Attorney Coach. The teams I’ve helped coach have earned numerous local, state, and national awards, including two Florida High School Mock Trial State Championships. I’ve also served on the Florida Law-Related Education Committee of The Florida Bar and on the Advisory Board of the Florida High School Mock Trial Championships. Over the years, I’ve authored middle school mock trial case materials and, for the past three years, have written the Florida High School Mock Trial case materials—an opportunity that allows me to shape the educational experiences of students across the state.

For more than 20 years, I’ve also worked as an adjunct professor for local and online universities, teaching a variety of courses for students pursuing careers in law and law-related fields. Teaching keeps me sharp and allows me to give back to a profession that has given me so much.

Above all, I am a family man. I’m the proud father of three wonderful children—David (34), Kevin (31), and Kallie (29)—and I’m excited to soon welcome a grandchild into the family. My wife, Kimberley, and I have been happily married for 39 years, and she has been my steadfast partner through every stage of my career. In my free time, I treasure being with my family, growing orchids, and continuing to mentor the lawyers of tomorrow.

For me, the law has never been just about cases—it’s about people, purpose, and making a meaningful difference every single day.
