My client had been stopped because he was a in a "high crime" area. The police officer claimed that the stop was due to my client not having a light on his back license plate/tag. The police officer se ... arched my client's car without my client's consent and was able to find a scale and several bags of illegal substances. I submitted a motion to the Court arguing that the stop, search, arrest, and any statements made thereafter would be inadmissible at trial. Since the state knew that if these pieces of evidence were excluded, they would not have a leg to stand on, the State Nolle Prossed (dismissed) the case and my client was able to move on with his life.
