Nicole McNamara Quattrocchi

I hired Nicole Quattrocchi through Marble specifically for two services: review/preparation of my Answer and Counterpetition in a family modification case and drafting my Parenting Plan. I provided my complete draft Answer/Counterpetition, supporting documents, and proposed Parenting Plan approxim...ately two weeks before the eventual filing deadline. I also specifically asked in writing that my substantive responses be reviewed before material facts or requested relief were removed. The drafts I received contained factual and drafting errors and omitted significant positions and relief I had expressly asked counsel to review. I repeatedly explained that I was completely fine with a short pleading. I even prepared and sent a concise replacement draft so the attorney could preserve the important substance without using my much longer original version. Instead of the substantive problems being resolved, I was repeatedly told that pleadings should be “short and sweet.” On the morning my response was due, at 10:14 a.m., I received an email informing me that Nicole was withdrawing because of “irreconcilable differences.” A Motion to Withdraw was filed that morning. I was then told I effectively had only a couple of hours to deal with the deadline. The correspondence from opposing counsel that was finally forwarded to me later that morning said the response was due “by 9/11” and threatened a motion for attorney’s fees if it was not filed. It did not state a noon deadline. I ultimately had to correct the pleadings myself, obtain notarizations, learn the Florida E-Filing Portal, file my own Answer and Counterpetition, file the supporting affidavits, and pay the filing fee myself on the same day my attorney withdrew. My final Answer/Counterpetition was only about nine pages, so the issue was never that I refused to allow the case to be condensed. The issue was accuracy and preserving material responses and relief. I understand that lawyers are busy and that lawyers do not have to adopt every change a client requests. What I cannot accept is paying for review and drafting, providing the necessary material well in advance, repeatedly raising the deadline and substantive problems, and then being left to complete and file the core pleading myself on the deadline day. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this attorney or this representation arrangement. I have requested that Marble review the matter and refund the fees charged for the services I ultimately had to complete myself.
