Not good at all on results directly related to her efforts and money driven slow.

This lawyer did nothing to speed up the process and rather let it take longer as she could possibly could as her payment agreement we made was on a monthly basis instead of paying after the case. Not surprsingly she did little to nothing to do any work at all or even win my case, she didn't even put ...it on the table as an option. Why would I even hire you then? She relied on our ignarence to make it look as if we were backed by her, but quickly got out of that conception as soon as I started pampering myself with the law and similar cases and an overal information on what to expect naturally. She did less what even a public defendant would do, obviously was on purpose as the longer she would be on my case the longer she would get paid. It was so explicitly painful that I wonder how much of naive we have been to expect different from this tactic, we blindly followed her and got smashed, plus loosing 5.000 dollars with more than overly paid sentence of months wich was not even justified.

As the attorney, i feel it is necessary to respond to this review. First, I am in no way, shape or form money driven. In fact, this client was mine when i worked for my old firm and i did not receive any of the income directly from this case, the firm did. All money issues were directed through the firm and my sole job was to get the client the best deal possible. My client didn't speak any English and his mother, who lived in another country, gave her credit card which was charged each month according to the payment plan they agreed to. My client was in jail and unable to get out, even after the case was over, because he had an INS hold on him due to his illegal status in the U.S. My firm was hired in late december, I received discovery from the prosecution in late January and pled his case out mid march, only 3 months into having the case. He had several charges where the evidence was stacked high against him, however i was able to get a charge nolle prossed and one dropped down to a lesser offense. He was in custody for 101 days on those charges and owed $2,400.00 in restitution to the victims. He was given many options and of course the option to go to trial, but he decided to take the plea and avoid a costly trial. It is fairly obvious that money issues are at the heart of this review, and that is unfortunate. Mr. Baldeon was facing several years in prison and only received 101 days for the crimes he admitted to committing. Of course i wish Mr. Baldeon nothing but the best of luck, but before leaving a review as harmful as this one, it would have been wise of him to put foward the full facts.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
