Carol provides guidance to clients regarding protection of their intellectual property (e.g., inventions, trademarks, works of authorship and trade secrets). In this regard, she provides legal representation to major defense contractors and leaders in the global communications market, document management market, consumer goods market, and network/software solutions market.

Carol is a Patent Attorney registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.  As such, she regularly handles patent application preparation and prosecution matters related to software, electronic and mechanical innovative ideas or inventions. She also handles patent search studies, infringement studies, patentability or (in)validity studies and freedom-to-operate studies.

Her areas of patent experience include, but are not limited to: digital and analog electronic circuits; computer software and hardware; data security software; cryptography; terrestrial-based and space-based communications systems; wireless telecommunications; radio frequency devices; consumer electronics devices and components; business and Internet methods; home automation systems; satellite imagery; integrated circuits; micro-electromechanical systems; black boxes; document handling systems; Electronic Article Surveillance ("EAS") systems; biometric systems; medical devices; robotic control systems; and mechanical devices (e.g., deployable antennas, electrical connectors, mechanical features of handheld radios, robotic systems, robotic grippers, and cooking apparatus).

She also has experience handling trademark registration matters and copyright registration matters. Additionally, she has experience reviewing, revising and/or drafting various types of agreements (e.g., non-disclosure agreements, assignment agreements and consulting agreements).
