Client in Victorville was charged with felony violation of PC 290 sex offender registration by failing to inform law enforcement of new address. The initial offer from the district attorney was 32 mont ... hs in state prison (i.e., 16 months X 2 because of prior strike). My client was a senior citizen with medical issues and extremely poor memory due to age. I was able to obtain for my client a medical disposition of 3 years under supervised probation, no prison time, and the DA agreed to strike the prior strike.
OUTCOME: Client's misdemeanor case was dismissed, bench warrant was recalled, and client is now able to pass security clearance for new job at a federal agency.
There was an outstanding warrant for the client after he failed to appear in court for a misdemeanor case for possession of drugs. Therefore, I appeared in court for the client, his misdemeanor case was dismissed, and his bench warrant was recalled. The client is now able to pass security clearance for his new job.
