I recently was successful in obtaining a change in custody for a father who was being accused of sexual abuse of his young daughter. The mother tried numerous ways to remove the child from the father' ... s life and alleging sexual abuse was just the latest tactic. The mother went so far as to coach the child to lie to the authorities. At trial I was able to prove the allegations were completely without merit and the mother's behavior was egregious enough to change primary custody of the child from her to the father and relocate the child to the father's geographical location. This was a difficult case because it meant separating the child from the mother; however, leaving the child with the mother would expose the child to the mother's emotional abuse and untruthful behavior. I also obtained several thousand dollars in attorney's fees sanctions against the mother for her inappropriate conduct.
