Business ownership / partnership dispute.
Nov 03, 2010OUTCOME: After initial attempts to resolve the matter, the Law Office of Shannon P. Dean brought a civil lawsuit against the husband and wife. Within 6 months my client received a favorable settlement in court appointed mediation.
Husband and wife sole proprietors sought financial and labor contributions in opening a new beer-pub business. On oral promises of an ownership / partnership interest in the business, my client invest ... ed thousands of dollars and contributed hundreds of hours in labor towards the opening of the pub. Once the pub was opened to the public and success of the business was readily apparent the husband and wife denied my client's ownership / partnership interest in the business and attempted to classify him as a mere lender. The husband and wife only offered to pay back, over a two year period, the actual dollar amount contributed by my client, and nothing for his labors. The Law Office of Shannon P. Dean was retained to resolve the matter.
