It depends on the terms in which you enter the group home. Talk with your counselor.

If you file you will have to go to drs they send you too even if you have other drs. Interview local attys and get free consultations.

I live in Michigan and retired in June 2013. I have a son who was on SS & SSI at the time I retired.

They have to pay what he is entitled to under ssdi before paying any ssi.

Take her to the local office and apply for survivor's benefits based on Father's SS. Ask that it be dated when she applied for SSI.

I want to know if the SS office can ask for money to be returned as an overpayment even when they had all financial information

You can get survivor's benefits at age 60 and switch to yours as late as age 70. This is a good way to go it possible. Appeal the overpayment.
