I'm Abigail "Abi" Langweiler, Managing Attorney at Rossen Law Firm. I'm a trial lawyer, a leader, a mentor, and a mom, and I've built my career around standing with people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives—making sure they're seen as more than the worst thing they've been accused of.
My practice focuses on serious felonies and high-stakes criminal cases, where a client's future and freedom are on the line. With more than fifteen years of experience in indigent defense, complex felony litigation, and legal team leadership, I bring a client-centered, holistic approach to every case I handle. I started out in indigent defense, working with clients who were often marginalized and overlooked by the system—many of whom had never had a professional truly listen to them. That experience shaped a core belief that still drives my work: one bad act does not define a person, and my job is to make sure the decision-makers in the system understand that too.
As Managing Attorney, I lead our legal team, mentor attorneys, refine case strategy, and make sure every client's story is heard, understood, and powerfully told in the courtroom. To me, criminal defense is about impact. Sometimes that's a dramatic trial result; sometimes it's helping a client get into the right treatment or support so they never see the inside of a courtroom again. Both can completely change the trajectory of a life, and both are why I do this work.
Before joining Rossen Law Firm, I served as Deputy Managing Attorney for the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel in Florida's 4th District. I earned my Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, and my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Ithaca College. I'm admitted to practice in both Florida and New Jersey, and I serve clients in English and Spanish.
I'm also passionate about being a visible example for women in criminal defense. I've developed and led an internship program that has produced multiple new criminal defense lawyers, and I regularly speak to first-year law students about the importance of relationships, community, and client-centered advocacy. In a field still dominated by men, I'm committed to mentoring women who want to build meaningful careers in criminal law—and to showing the next generation that you can be all-in for your clients and all-in at home.
I live in Boca Raton with my husband and our two daughters, who are constant reminders of why this work—protecting futures and expanding second chances—matters so much.
