Tom is one of the most unprofessional and unsophisticated attorney’s I’ve ever experienced. His lack of knowledge, rude demeanor and inability to think critically make him a lawyer I hope to never interact with again. Tom is not for someone looking for quality counsel that will provide sound guidance.... I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Atty required a $2000 retainer for handling a eviction case for me. These eviction cases are rather very simple, as the defendant / tenant usually don't contest the proceedings once they learn they are required to post a cash deposit w/ the Clerk of Courts equal to two months of your current rent. A ...$1000 amount is the max, most attorneys charge to handle like cases. I allowed Atty Runyun to require the add'l $1000 in the event the defendant / tenant contests this eviction action. The tenant knew he had no case & became friendly in emails back & forth w/ Runyun, the two had at least a dozen emails at all hours of a night, on at least two separate evenings. I'm sure that anything Runyan wanted to offer as free advise to the tenant was well intended, and one paragraph of help would have been sufficient, then put an end to the emails reminding tenant that Dude / landlord hired Runyun. Instead Runyun kept these emails going back & forth w/ the tenant until they stopped & tenant was out & gone. Runyun did send tenant a form letter to tenants new address regarding his security deposit. Tenant had no security deposit. Runyun now wants to apply to my retainer amount of $2000 over and above the usual $1000 going fee charged by many other attorneys; $870 for his sending / reading of apprx 12 emails at all hours of the night. I chose Runyun as the attorney to handle this case as being most convenient for me, having door to door entry, handicap parking, single office building. easy for me getting in & out w/ my COPD & Lung cancer. Although three other attorneys quoted a average of $875 I thought a agreeable fee of $1000 would be acceptable by Runyun. Runyun wants almost $600 more.
