Matthew Khoury

Matthew is a Middle-Eastern American attorney from California. He focuses his practice solely on immigration law, with an emphasis on deportation defense.

Helping others is the reason that Matthew became an attorney. While attending law school in Washington, D.C., Matthew worked on access-to-justice issues, as well as projects concerning human rights. In addition to human rights, Matthew spent time volunteering with homeless individuals at the largest homeless shelter in the Washington, D.C. area. After law school, Matthew successfully litigated landlord-tenant cases on behalf of immigrants and low-income individuals who were facing eviction proceedings in Massachusetts.

Though born and raised in San Francisco, California, Matthew spent several years on the East Coast. During his time in Boston, Massachusetts, Matthew served as an attorney at a prominent commercial law firm, where he worked closely with attorneys who have decades of litigation experience representing clients across the country. Matthew’s practice primarily focused on litigating complex commercial disputes and representing individuals who have suffered discrimination and harassment.

Matthew relocated back to San Diego, California, to defend immigrants against deportation and help individuals immigrate to the United States. The Trump administration has not only made it difficult for individuals to immigrate to the United States, but it has inspired fear in immigrants across the United States. Matthew cofounded Santos Khoury, LLP, to keep families together and ensure that immigrants are receiving effective representation in court.
