Medical Bills from Out of Network Anesthethiologist Post Surgery
N/AOUTCOME: Medical Bills from Anesthethiologist Discharged Post Surgery for Balance Billing
A young man had knee surgery and received medical bills from an Anesthesiology group post-surgery. The young man was insured by a health insurance plan subsidized by the state. The medical group was an ... out of network provider, but the hospital where the surgery took place was a participating network hospital. The Anesthesiologist had not informed the Patient that he was not in-network with the health plan despite him practicing at the hospital and having an office at the hospital. The Anesthesiology Group was paid the contract rate from the health insurance plan, but sought full payment for the amount billed.
