My family hired Jimmy Almeyda’s firm to represent my brother at his immigration bond hearing. I helped coordinate the documents and communications, and I was deeply disappointed with the service. Although the firm submitted the initial bond request and communicated with us on several occasions, ou...r repeated requests to meet with the attorney who would actually handle the hearing never resulted in a meeting. We wanted to discuss the strategy, clarify facts, and prepare the witnesses. We had paid the fees in full. We also repeatedly asked the firm to correct the housing information and confirm whether supporting evidence had been submitted. We did not receive clear written answers to those questions before the hearing. On the morning of the hearing, we were still receiving requests for address documentation that we had previously offered to provide. Mr. Almeyda did not personally handle the hearing; another attorney appeared through his firm. Based on what I witnessed, she seemed unfamiliar with important facts and struggled to answer the judge’s questions. My brother’s employer had driven several hours to attend, yet his role was not properly explained when employment questions arose. Afterward, the firm emphasized its administrative work and evidence received late Friday. One signed declaration did arrive Friday evening, but other employment documents and witness materials had been provided earlier. That explanation did not address our concerns about preparation and unanswered requests. We understand that a favorable outcome cannot be guaranteed. We expected clear communication, careful preparation, and accountability. Based on our family’s experience, I would not recommend this firm.
