Do I have to apply for the EAD at the same time of the TPS, or can I file for the EAD later when I can gather the fee?

If you are requesting an EAD, you must file the application TOGETHER with your TPS application.

Ask your attorney why he dropped you. Make sure you get a letter saying he won't represent you any longer, then hire another attorney.
