Medical malpractice occurs when a doctor, nurse, hospital or other healthcare provider fails to provide appropriate treatment that meets the accepted standard of care causing a patient injury or death.

A personal injury occurs when someone is injured as a result of the negligence (lack of reasonable care) or intentional misconduct of another person or a business. Common causes are motor vehicle accidents, falls, boating or water sports accidents and dog bites.

Wrongful death claims are brought on behalf of the legal survivors of an individual who has died due to the negligence or intentional misconduct of another person or a business.

Disputes that arise when an insured, either a policyholder or someone to whom the policy provides coverage, seeks payment from the insurance company and the company wrongly denies the claim or fails to act in good faith in responding to the claim.
