After obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Columbia University and working as a registered nurse, Karen discovered that being a patient advocate in the healthcare setting was an uphill battle. As a result, Karen decided to go to law school so that she could use her nursing background to become the patient advocate she envisioned. She went on to receive her law degree from Vanderbilt University and has spent her legal career advocating for the rights of patients and injured Plaintiffs. A believer in client empowerment through informed decision-making, Karen is also a certified civil circuit mediator. On a personal level, she had volunteered to promote access to healthcare and parent participation in the education of their children.
