Although pleasantly nice for a lawyer, approachable, Mr. Kahn is less than you might expect... from a lawyer. Taking in consideration you will trust he won't get confused with very important names, dates and information, that would the least you would expect from a professional, a Lawyer, after all..., like Mr. Kahn. I have given him a very easy task. Put together my Trust, quit claim a few properties to different LLCs, and a Power of Attorney. To make a simple story short, Mr. Kahn made a Power of Attorney to someone different than the person I have asked him to. He quit claim the property I reside and have Homestead and Mortgage to one of the LLCs. When I was called to the office to sign the papers I trusted, I did not read what he has done, trusting the documents were right. Not in my wildest dreams they could be wrong. Too easy. I gave him all the info when I was there, in writing. My big mistake was I did not read them. One day I just happened to need the Power of Attorney, a name other than my son's was there. I found myself making excuses for Mr. Kahn, his age maybe, I told myself that people make mistakes. Three years after these events, I receive a notice from the Florida Department of Revenue. Mr Kahn did not pay the documentary tax Stamps when he made the first quit claim and the next corrective quit claim, and now I was being audit for not paying them and the penalties applied. I called Mr Kahn who could only tell me I signed the document, I did not read it. Donald Jeffrey Kahn represented me as a property seller in a Miami Beach, FL real estate closing. I was incarcerated at the time of this representation and I felt that he lied to me and gave unauthorized discounts and price concessions to the buyer behind my back, and after giving him power of attorn...ey to handle the real estate transaction, safe moving & storage of my personal items, and the sale of my car, he also sold my car which was worth at least $10,000 at the time, for a mere pittance of only $1000. He claimed that he received cash from the buyer and that this amount was all he could get, knowing that there was no way for me to track down the purchaser and verify the sale upon my release. Also, many collectible items and memorabilia that I had in my home were missing after I was released and Donald Jeffrey Kahn, Esq. was supposed to arrange for their safe keeping and storage and was legally responsible for this via the power of attorney agreement that I signed.
