Deborah Bovarnick Mastin

Deborah Bovarnick Mastin is an attorney, arbitrator and mediator with the mediation and arbitration panels of: American Arbitration Association (Mega Projects, Master Mediator, large complex construction disputes, International Centre for Dispute Resolution, and Dispute Review Board panels), International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (construction and commercial disputes), Dispute Resolution Centre of Trinidad and Tobago, and International Chamber of Commerce. She is a Fellow of: American College of Construction Lawyers, College of Commercial Arbitrators, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and Dispute Board Federation.  For over 3 decades she was an Assistant County Attorney for Miami-Dade and for Broward Counties. She is a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyer and a Florida Certified Circuit Court Mediator.  She earned her J.D., Northeastern University School of Law, and S.B., MIT School of Architecture and Planning. 

Her practice concentrates on energy, construction and intellectual property law and included a $6 billion airport expansion at Miami International Airport, a $2 billion expansion at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport,, libraries, museums, performing arts centers, power and chiller plants, public transit and solid waste disposal facilities. She wrote "ADR from an Owner's Perspective," Construction ADR, American Bar Association; "Managing Risk of Construction Defects," (co-author) Construction Defects, American Bar Association; "Damages in Construction Litigation," Florida Civil Practice Damages, Florida Bar;  and articles on alternate dispute resolution.

She is a member of the London Court of International Arbitration, ABA Construction Industry Forum Governing Committee, ABA Dispute Resolution Section, ABA Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division Council, ABA Business Law Section, Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust Law (ADR Committee past co-chair, Construction Committee), Florida Bar Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Section past chair, and Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, past chair Region 1 (US and Canada).
