You can file for asylum without an attorney but it is not recommended. Also, not all asylum attorneys are free.

You can file I 131 in conjunction with your application to adjust status.

Motions to re-open take months to decide. But you should have a response within 4-9 weeks. Try not to miss the next interview. Good Luck.

Your green card applications are separate and individual to you and you can process them as such. They do not have to be processed at the same time.
