Attorney Christopher Pagan currently practices criminal defense and personal injury law throughout the South Florida region. Raised in Fort Lauderdale, he began his legal education by earning a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Florida State University. During his time in Tallahassee, he interned for a prominent criminal defense attorney. This experience inspired him to pursue a career in criminal defense work. Chris continued his legal education at Syracuse University College of Law and interned at the Criminal Defense Clinic, representing individuals charged with criminal offenses. Knowing his heart was in South Florida, he also interned in a felony division for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
After graduating law school and passing the Florida Bar Exam, Chris worked as a prosecutor for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. For over a year, he worked in DUI/misdemeanor court, accruing dozens of criminal trials. Chris tried numerous jury trials including the charges of DUI, battery, animal cruelty, prostitution, and possession of cannabis. After handling juvenile felony cases for a few months, he moved to adult felonies. While in felonies, he prosecuted serious felony cases and probation violations ranging from third degree felonies to first degree felonies punishable by life. Besides litigating hundreds of legal motions, he handled numerous probation violation hearings and felony jury trials including domestic battery by strangulation, possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, battery on law enforcement officers, drug trafficking, strongarm robbery, DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and numerous burglary charges, including those punishable by life sentences.
The years of experience Chris accrued as a prosecutor gave him insight into how prosecuting agencies operate, conduct investigations, formulate plea offers, and try their cases. Chris also utilizes his negotiation skills, investigative work, motion practice, and trial experience for personal injury and other civil cases. He takes his client’s cases very seriously and will litigate and defend them in the most appropriate manner given his client’s position and priorities.
