Mr. Desrochers was facing vessel homicide charges after his boat ran over a smaller vessel which had become disabled and was being towed back to port. The accident resulted in the death of a young c ... ollege student. Both the towing vessel and the vessel run over, were being rented for the day. Neither of the two rental boats had operating navigation lights, rendering both virtually invisible as nightfall came. Following a full forensic investigation by Mark Shapiro and his team, Mark was able to convince the prosecuting agency not to pursue criminal charges.
