Ledford A. Parnell Jr.

I was born and raised in West Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey. Graduated from Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls, NJ. Worked in my father's gas station washing cars on weekends while a teenager, first in Mountain View and later at a new station in Pompton Plains. After 16, I put to good use my 9 years of accordian teaching and joined two friends in a band. We played mostly at weddings throughout the area and of course New Years eve, which was the best paid event each year.

Moved with my family to Florida and attended the University of Miami majoring in business and accounting. In my senior year in college I decided I would go to law school which I also did at the University of Miami. After my first year I took a year off as I had joined the Army Reserve at their location (at that time) on the University of Miami and I did not want to be called for basic training in the middle of a semester. I worked for Dade County until I was called for basic training in Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. After that I was sent to Fort Benjamin in Indianappolis for additional training. I then returned just in time to start a new semester and then graduated University of Miami Law School.

I initially worked in a small law firm in Hollywood for a year and then decided to open my own firm. It was the first full-time law firm in the City of Sunrise. I had a couple other locations after that until I located to my present location which is almost on the border of Coral Springs and Parkland. The office building is located on the south end of the golf course that is visible on the west side of Nob Hill Road.

I have always handled many areas of practice, both criminal and civil, as I enjoyed the variety. Currently my major volume of cases are probate which of course regularly includes various real estate matters. After that the cases are primarily business and family matters. If I do not handle a certain type of case, I am able to forward clients to other knowledgeable attorneys.

I always look forward to talking to my next interesting client. I especially enjoy the contact with and ability to assist others.
