Biography
Attorney Brian J. Cohen was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from New York University, and graduated magna cum laude from Hofstra University School of Law as a member of the Law Review.
Over 20 years ago, Brian J. Cohen started to practice Bankruptcy Law. His reasons were personal. When he was a child, Brian’s father developed a life-threatening illness which caused him to be hospitalized for more than a year. With the resultant loss of income and the crushing medical debt, his father had to file for bankruptcy. Filing for bankruptcy was the only way that Brian’s family was able to keep their home and survive financially.
It was this event, experienced at such an early age, which helped Brian truly understand the situations his clients face and formed his desire to help them. Brian now hopes to offer this same "fresh start" to his clients that he and his family were provided years ago.
