I hired Rayme at the poor advice of a family friend. She was extremely hard to get in touch with to the point I thought she maybe having a hard time in her life or other issues that she shouldn’t be representing clients if she couldn’t get under control to be a responsive attorney. She would not f...ollow up about important details on my case and was not even aware of things that would have made me in contempt of court, had I not reached out to the Monroe County Court Case Manager myself to get an update on the status of my case. On top of her poor communication, borderline incompetence, and excuses for not responding to me until the last minute, she pulled out of my case nine days before a contempt hearing that her incompetence and poor preparation for my case, led me to have to attend a contempt criminal proceeding against me from the party I was trying to get a restraining order on the behalf of my son. The case I hired her for was not for a criminal proceeding and turned into a case against me, with possible jail time for contempt, that is how poor her advice and representation was in my case. The lack of communication left me in charge of having the find out details of my case from the Monroe County case manager that was shocked my lawyer had not communicated to me in a timely fashion. The result was a 2.5 hour contempt of court hearing that she left me stranded with nine days before the hearing, withdrawing from representation after I paid her in full and without even a warning or recommendation. As that was an extremely trying time in my and my family’s life, I never took the energy to make an official complaint against her to the Florida Bar but I would have had a very strong case to do so, it wasn’t about the money that I spent on her services, just simply that I never wanted anyone to ever have to go through what I did due to her unprofessional representation. I was very lucky to find a much better lawyer from Key West to represent me and it was a big blessing in disguise. I am very surprised she has not recently or before had a bad mark on her bar license as I felt that she was the most incompetent lawyer I have ever done business with in my life.
