Asylum cases are not "easy". The great majority of those applications are denied. Do yourself a favor and hire an experienced immigration attorney....

Simple, if he came in legally (and could prove it) he has to adjust his status to that of a legal premanent resident (as long as he is admissible)....

I suggest that you call the clerk of the court where you plan to get married. They should be able to let you know their specific marriage...

I-864 for sure. Maybe also I-864A. Strongly suggest that you retain an experienced immigration attorney.
