Stephan Lopez

Stephan Lopez is a Cuban born immigrant who came to this country at the age of seven years old and was raised in Miami, Florida. Stephan’s parents immigrated to the United States to give him a better life and he has made the most of that opportunity. Stephan’s parents were teachers in Cuba and have been hardworking members of the South Florida community since their arrival to this country. Stephan credits his parents for his family values and work ethic as he engages in the practice of law with true fidelity of purpose and clarity of justice.

Stephan is also a former police detective and former patrol officer; he has investigated many criminal cases including homicides, robberies and sexual batteries. Stephan brings over 12 years of experience within the law enforcement field which included his serving as a member of his department’s ERT (Emergency Response Team) that was deployed to the Katrina catastrophe in 2005.

Stephan is a former prosecutor for Miami-Dade County, the largest prosecutor’s office in the State of Florida and the 4th largest in the nation. He has worked many cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies and career criminal cases as a prosecutor. Stephan also serves as a Special Assistant Public Defender, handling a variety of serious juvenile and adult cases, including career criminal and murder cases in both Miami Dade and Broward Counties. Bringing that expertise to private practice, Stephan offers defense representation in a variety of criminal cases including: white collar defense, organized fraud, mortgage fraud, drug trafficking, drug sale, drug possession, robbery, burglary, aggravated battery, resisting with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, and other serious felonies and misdemeanors including DUI, assault & battery and resisting an officer without violence.
