Cortney Elizabeth Walters

Cortney Walters, Esq. is a founding partner of Jones Walters Law Group, PLLC. Born in Columbia, Maryland (and raised in Baltimore County), Ms. Walters is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Howard University where she earned her undergraduate degree in 2013. Ms. Walters went on to obtain her law degree from The St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida in 2016, where she again graduated with honors. While in law school, Ms. Walters was a member of The St. Thomas Law Review and The St. Thomas University School of Law Trial Team.

Ms. Walters was admitted to the Florida Bar in September of 2016, and began her career as an Assistant Public Defender. She served in both Orange County and Broward County, Florida. Ms. Walters has handled hundreds of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors, DUI and felonies from inception to trial. She is a zealous advocate who has successfully defended her clients in a wide range of criminal matters.

Prior to co-founding Jones Walters Law Group, PLLC, Ms. Walters worked at both a major civil litigation firm and insurance company handling insurance defense litigation, automobile negligence, premises liability, personal injury protection claims and all matters pertaining to casualty defense and general negligence.

In May 2021, Ms. Walters co-founded Jones Walters Law Group, PLLC, a criminal defense and personal injury law firm dedicated to passionately representing clients in criminal defense matters and personal injury claims.
