I received a letter in the mail this year in June from Broward County Court House informing me that I had to attend a zoom meeting with a judge and a lawyer that was representing a client from the bus accident that is injured. When I attended the meeting I was informed that after 3 years of being ...involved in a accident with a Broward County City Bus that hit my vehicle and tore my front bumper off my vehicle and did other damages to my vehicle in the front resulting in a total loss, I was being sued by a man that says he fell down on the bus and was hurt and was receiving treatment from that day the accident in 2017 occurred and the amount of money he is asking for is for medical expenses and a hip surgery. The reason I was being sued is because the officer that responded to the crash in 2017 issued me a ticket for careless driving and wrote on the ticket that I was making a u turn into a moving bus. I was waiting at a complete stop waiting to merge into the lane to go straight, when the bus entered my lane and hit my vehicle. I called Geico to see what they could do to defend me to find to my surprise, I didn’t have bodily insurance, and I was paying on the vehicle so I had my license suspended and I had to fight to have the ticket removed from my record, and they could not defend me against being sued.
