Mrs. Barnes' practice includes guardianship law, commercial law and litigation, probate litigation, general business and corporate matters, condominium and association law, landlord and tenant, and real estate law for client matters in Florida and the Bahamas.
After graduating from Sweet Briar College, Mrs. Barnes studied at the University of Edinburgh College of Law, in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom, where she earned her law degree in 1990. Mrs. Barnes returned to the United States to attend Stetson University College of Law to receive her Juris Doctor in 1993, and she was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1993. Mrs. Barnes furthered her legal education by earning a Master of Laws in Real Property Development from the University of Miami School of Law in 1995. In June 2008, Mrs. Barnes was admitted to the Rolls of Solicitors of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. In September of 2008, Mrs. Barnes was admitted to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas Bar.
