Angela M Sigman

Attorney Angela Sigman was born and raised in Brevard County. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Psychology. Angela was employed by the Melbourne Police Department for almost 12 years and was an Emergency Communications Supervisor for police and fire services before leaving to attend law school. During her employment with the Department she received several awards including Employee of the Year for outstanding work performance and Humanitarian of the Year for her efforts in assisting co-workers and the community after traumatic events.

While in law school, Ms. Sigman was chosen as a Pro Bono Co-Director for the school where she was tasked with helping raise awareness about the importance of Pro Bono work, and assisted in coordinating pro bono opportunities for the students. She received the Pro Bono Honors award upon graduation.

Angela has also interned with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Houston, Texas, as well as with Three Rivers Legal Aid in Jacksonville and Brevard County Legal Aid (“BCLA”) where she assisted with family law cases. She is currently handling pro bono cases for BCLA because she believes it is important for everyone to have access to legal services, regardless of income.

Because she honors military personnel she has also agreed to accept cases from the ABA Military Pro Bono Project, an organization that assists active-duty enlisted service members in receiving legal counsel for various matters if they meet the Program's financial criteria.

Before starting her own law firm, Angela was an associate attorney for The Slonim Law Firm where she assisted clients in the area of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Medicaid Planning, Asset Protection Planning, Probate Administration, Guardianships, Landlord/Tenant disputes and other areas of civil litigation. She also worked for Enrique Law Firm and handled primarily foreclosure defense and debt collection defense cases. She is a member of the Brevard County Bar Association, the Indian River Chamber of Commerce and the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce.

Angela recently married Graham McKinnon of Vero Beach and her 18 year old son is now attending Florida State University after graduating from the Cambridge Program at Heritage High School with Honors.

In her spare time Angela likes to volunteer for various charity events with her husband and other members of her family and has the goal of forming a non-profit organization to help local causes.
