Nearly completely ignored, but charged 1/10th hour every time I tried to get them to do anything at all - Had to fire Figueroa.

I lost $8k to Figueroa, their non-refundable retainer, for an uncontested divorce with literally almost nothing to show for it but a tremendous amount of stress and the near-constant feeling of abandonment by my lawyer. It was extremely stressful trying to get anything done through Figueroa. Possib...ly Figueroa's most aggravating habit was a the following loop, which characterized the 7 months I suffered under Figueroa: 1) My wife's attorney would reply with new requirements, 2) I would incorporate them, write my full reply & sent it to Figueroa to type into their master document. Figueroa uses a locked format that I (the client) cannot edit. 3) Figueroa would ignore me generally for about a week. Note, this consisted of me sending Figueroa my reply with Figueroa charging me 1/10th hour ($35) to acknowledge receipt of my email, but no indication if or when Figueroa would do anything about it. I learned to email them every day ($35 charged each email with nothing to show for it); I had to bug them daily or they completely forgot about me for literally weeks at a time. 4) Once Figueroa did incorporate my response and sent it to me for proofreading (my requirement), the Figueroa reply almost invariably incorporated serious typos that I had to fix. Because the client cannot access the Figueroa format, I had to wait, and wait, for the paralegal (or whoever) to change her mistake. They had a different paralegal respond to me almost each time, so there was usually no continuity and I had to update each new paralegal almost weekly, costing a new amount each time. - This Figueroa cycle of ignoring me for a week at a time or longer made an already stressful situation much worse; it was clear Figueroa did not have my back. They didn't even know my back was there! They still charged 1/10th hour each time I called or emailed, which turned out to be a fruitless endeavor on my part). This stretched on for 6 months; a significant part of this was fixing their own mistakes since they couldn't seem to type. My ex-wife and I reached final agreement after the ex increasing her demands 7 times in writing, but I could not get Figueroa to type it into their form. So I fired Figueroa, after it was clear I was so low on their priority list that I was not worth a reply. Apparently they make their $$ in litigation so if you have an uncontested divorce, use the lawyer I replaced Figueroa with, which started from scratch (using her own forms), charged less than half the Figueroa retainer, and had me legally divorced in one month. My impression of Figueroa is they are a very unfocused, disorganized office, with a different person replying every time - if they replied at all. Nearly impossible to speak to my attorney there; she was almost always too busy to talk to me. Overall, a very bad experience that was completely avoidable.

Had better

“Results speak for themselves. Litigation cos me over $50k. And I had to hire another attorney to appeal only to find out Figueroa Law Group had not submitted into evidence my ex deposition and other very important documents. The error is costing me over $100k as I was not allowed to recoup money my ...ex owed me legally. Other minor issues are their inability to respond timely. I had to drive to their office several times just to get questions answered. I made recommendations for improvements such as hiring at least one man and to have an office manager to keep up with client calls and issues. Based on what Im reading here, they have not improved. I wish they can get their act together.

"I practiced Family Law in South Florida for about 30 years. I moved to Melbourne in 2017 and rented space from Diana. Over many months we got to know each other, and frankly, I became totally impressed with her straight forward style of practice and amazing grasp of Family Law. At the end of the day, she invited me to become “Of Counsel” to her firm. I accepted without hesitation and I have never been happier in my practice of Family Law than I am now. Practicing with Diana is refreshing because she is so knowledgeable. Together, we have over 60 years experience in Family Law. There is rarely/never an issue that is discussed between us that is unfamiliar. I have watched her in Court as well, I was way impressed. In summary, Diana is truly a top shelf Family Lawyer! "I endorse this lawyer. I have had the pleasure of litigating many cases against Ms. Figueroa (as her as opposing counsel). She is a very skilled litigator, a zealous advocate, and truly cares about her clients and their results."
