Kevin Patrick Markey

Since joining The Florida Bar in 1988, Kevin P. Markey has developed a career focused on helping organizations make sound decisions—whether the issue involves a business deal, a property matter, or a government-related challenge. He trained at two prominent Brevard County firms before forming Markey & Fowler, P.A. in 1994. As managing partner, he led a five-attorney practice handling corporate and franchise work, real estate transactions, estate planning, civil disputes, and governmental matters. Kevin now practices in Cocoa and is a go-to advisor for businesses, professionals, and nonprofits seeking guidance on business formation and operations, real property issues, and long-term planning through trusts, wills, and probate administration. His work also includes significant public and institutional representation: he serves as general counsel to Eastern Florida State College and has represented the municipalities of Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, and Melbourne. Kevin brings deep real estate credentials as well, including more than three decades as a title agent and years of work as lead counsel for local financial institutions, and he serves as a director of Community Bank of the South. He earned a finance degree from the University of Florida and a J.D. with honors from Florida State University, where he also published scholarly work, completed a Policy Studies Clinic fellowship, and studied at Oxford. A Brevard County resident for over 50 years, he was elected to the Port Canaveral Board of Commissioners in 2020 and has served as Vice Chair and Chairman.
