While on the Bay Bridge, the driver suddenly slammed on the brakes and stopped on the roadway, causing Plaintiff to be catapulted from the back row down the center aisle of the bus. As a result of the accident, Plaintiff was diagnosed with a right displaced proximal third humerus fracture and left distal radius fracture. She would later be diagnosed with a lower back (L2) anterior crush fracture. Other injuries included scarring resulting from the surgery to her right arm and the impact her injuries had on her ability to work in a family operated carpet cleaning business.
