Pleas are sometimes worked out by the attorneys, sometimes not. He’s going to have to make a decision.

It is hard to tell without knowing how the argument was framed, but I’ve had success on failures to try to suppress. He has only 30 days to appeal.

Person who is on the other side is the appellee. You’ll get a chance to reply. Sounds like you need an attorney.

After exceptions have been filed you wait. If you want a hearing you have to request one with the court in most cases.
