Valentina Izquierdo Salazar

Valentina Izquierdo Salazar is an associate with Alvarez, Thompson, & Smoak, P.A., where her practice area is focused on litigation. She is fluent in Spanish.
Valentina received her Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Marketing, with a minor in Law, Justice, and Advocacy, from the University of Tampa. She also earned a Paralegal Certificate from the University of South Florida that same year. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. While in law school, she was an active member of the Moot Court Honors Board and was named a Top 4 Finalist Oral Advocate in the 1L Moot Court Competition. She was also involved with Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International; the Sport & Entertainment Law Society; the Criminal Law Society; the Hispanic National Bar Association (Student Member); and the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (Student Member).

Valentina began her legal career with Alvarez, Thompson & Smoak, P.A. as a law clerk during her 2L and 3L years. After passing the Florida Bar, she returned to the firm as an associate attorney. Her prior legal experience includes internships with the Public Defender’s Office in both the 9th and 13th Judicial Circuits, serving as a legal intern to Judge Christopher Sabella in Hillsborough County and Judge Tarlika Nunez-Navarro in the 9th Judicial Circuit in Orlando, and a Congressional Internship with U.S. Congressman Ted Deutch. She also worked as a paralegal at Dunaway Law Firm, P.A. Her diverse legal background has provided her with a well-rounded foundation that she brings to her litigation practice.

Originally from Venezuela, Ms. Izquierdo Salazar has resided in Florida since 2012. Outside of work, she volunteers as a Volunteer Coordinator for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also enjoys spending quality time and traveling with her family, partner, and friends.​
