A Pasco county, Florida jury returned a $25,910,000 verdict for the February 21, 2014 wrongful death of Michalanne Salliotte. Michalanne was ejected from a 2002 Ford E350 van owned by the First Bapti ... st Church of New Port Richey during a church trip to Georgia. The jury found the van to be defective in both its handling and seatbelt design. The jury also found the church to be negligent in failing to maintain the buckles in the bench seat in the van where Michalanne was seated at the time of the crash. Tragically, Michalanne leaves behind a husband and four children.
