Michelle Gomez Hinden, Esq. acts as of counsel to Aktas Law, P.A., and focuses her practice on corporate, transactional and commercial real estate law. At the beginning of her legal career, Mrs. Hinden served as an assistant to a corporate law firm, which represented well-known retailers in the field of Asset Protection. She later moved to Fort Lauderdale where she worked as an assistant to the partner of a boutique commercial real estate firm that represented national and local lenders in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of improved and unimproved commercial properties.
After law school, Mrs. Hinden moved to Orlando and returned to working in the field of corporate law where she worked with clients on implementing corporate policies and processes to ensure compliance with various statutes, rules, regulations and best practices within the retail industry. Mrs. Hinden also performed risk assessments for her firm concerning potential liability issues, employment matters, training, business operations and ethical standards. Utilizing her knowledge and experience in corporate law, Mrs. Hinden has also participated in and has successfully drafted and negotiated vendor contracts with various Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies.
Over the last five years, Mrs. Hinden has also continued to work in the commercial real estate field by handling complex real estate transactions for a privately-held developer. Mrs. Hinden has also successfully negotiated and drafted documents in connection with commercial business leases. While working in commercial real estate, Mrs. Hinden has also participated in joint venture transactions and the planning and formation of corporate entities.
Mrs. Hinden received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology from University of Central Florida in 2001. She went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2008. While in law school, Mrs. Hinden was the recipient of the Advanced Legal Research, Writing and Drafting Certificate, which focused on legal analysis, research, oral advocacy and the writing skills needed for success in the practice of law. She earned a Pro Bono Honor Cord for devoting over 200 hours of volunteer service to the Jacksonville community. She was the recipient of the Founder’s Award for her significant contributions to the ideals and objectives of Florida Coastal School of Law. Mrs. Hinden was also a member of the Animal Law Society Moot Court Team, which ranked in the 2008 National Animal Advocacy Appellate Moot Court Competition at Harvard Law School.
In 2012, Mrs. Hinden volunteered her time to the Legal Aid Society of Orange County Bar Association: AIDS Special Will Project where she provided simple wills and related documents to persons with HIV and AIDS. As a result of her efforts in volunteering her services, Mrs. Hinden was the recipient of the One Promise Pro Bono Lapel Pin from the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc. From 2010 through 2013, Mrs. Hinden also served the Orange County community as a Volunteer Advisory Board Member for Hannibal Square Community Land Trust where she reviewed and provided legal advice and recommendations to the Board Members on its proposed ground lease.
