also known as Jean Paul Castro Lamberty
Jean-Paul Castro is the Founder and Principal Attorney of CALAM Immigration Law PLLC, a boutique immigration law firm he established in 2025 focused on employment-based and high-skilled immigration matters. His practice centers on representing professionals, researchers, executives, entrepreneurs, artists, and other highly accomplished individuals pursuing U.S. immigration pathways such as EB-1A Extraordinary Ability petitions, EB-2 National Interest Waivers (NIW), O-1 visas, and related employment-based immigration processes.
Mr. Castro earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Finance from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He began his legal career as a trial attorney before the Miami Immigration Court, where he represented individuals and families in complex immigration proceedings and secured meaningful forms of relief that changed lives and kept families together. Over time, his practice evolved toward strategic employment-based immigration representation, where he has now worked on hundreds of high-skilled immigration petitions for professionals across a wide range of industries, including STEM, healthcare, business, academia, the arts, and entrepreneurship.
Prior to founding CALAM Immigration Law, Mr. Castro worked at one of Florida’s largest immigration law firms, where he managed high-volume employment-based immigration matters and supervised teams involved in the preparation of complex petitions. Over the course of his career, he has participated in the preparation and filing of more than 600 immigration petitions, with a strong emphasis on discretionary and merit-based cases requiring detailed legal strategy and evidentiary development.
Mr. Castro has contributed articles on business and probate law to several legal journals and has written opinion pieces for leading Puerto Rican publications such as El Nuevo Día, El Vocero, and Microjuris. During law school, he served as President of the National Law Students Association of Puerto Rico and further broadened his international perspective through studies in international and business law at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain.
Fully committed to the immigration law community, Mr. Castro has served on the Board of Directors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Central Florida Chapter and currently serves as Vice Chair of its Business & Investment Committee, where he helps promote discussion and education regarding employment-based and high-skilled immigration strategy.
Throughout his life, Jean-Paul has witnessed the profound real-world impact of immigration law—both through the experiences of his own family and through the journeys of his clients. Those experiences continue to shape his belief that thoughtful, ethical, and compassionate advocacy can meaningfully transform lives and opportunities.
Outside of his legal practice, Jean-Paul enjoys cooking, traveling, visiting theme parks, and spending time with his cat.
