Fernanda Cortes is the founder of Cortes Legal Group, a boutique, high-quality law firm located in the heart of Orlando. Originally established as Cortes Immigration Law Firm, the practice is now expanding to offer comprehensive services in both immigration and family law, addressing the interconnected needs of families navigating life’s complexities. Having worked for other law firms prior to founding her own, Attorney Cortes realized that one of the most important aspects of providing legal services is ensuring the attorney is accessible to clients when they need support. The focus of Cortes Law Group is to deliver personalized attention and outstanding services across all practice areas. As an immigrant herself, Attorney Cortes has firsthand experience with the challenges of navigating complex legal processes, allowing her to deeply understand her clients’ needs and expectations—whether in immigration matters or family-related issues. Her approach emphasizes empathy, timely responses, and dedicated client care. While her primary practice is in immigration law, Attorney Cortes has experience in family law and is available to assist clients, particularly those who prefer to communicate in Portuguese, her native language, fostering clear and culturally sensitive representation. Attorney Cortes is licensed by the Florida Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Born and raised in Brazil, Attorney Cortes graduated from law school in 2002 and worked in the legal department of one of the country’s largest financial institutions before moving to the U.S. in 2005. She also earned a law degree in the U.S. and has been practicing law ever since. A lifelong learner, Attorney Cortes obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially traveling around the world to indulge her passion for history and diverse cultures.
