Brian Roy Gilchrist

Mr. Gilchrist is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Intellectual Property Law. Board Certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar for competency, experience professionalism and ethics in an area of law. He has substantial experience in all phases of intellectual property litigation, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, deceptive trade practices and restrictive covenants. Mr. Gilchrist has been attorney of record in over 200 patent cases, over 100 trademark cases and over 75 copyright cases across the country. He is a member of the Central Florida Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA is an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. Members must have tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion and exhibit the virtues of civility, integrity, and professionalism to be invited to join.

Mr. Gilchrist has been rated an “AV” attorney by Martindale-Hubbell since 1996. An "AV" rating is the highest rating available. This rating signifies that the lawyer’s peers rank them at the top of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards. Mr. Gilchrist is an accomplished mediator, certified by the Florida Supreme Court since 2003 and has actively mediated over one hundred disputes, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets in a wide range of technologies. He has been appointed as a mediator by Judges of the District Courts of Florida and by private parties seeking to resolve their disputes. He has qualified as both a Mediator and Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and has been retained as an expert witness in intellectual property matters. Mr. Gilchrist has acted as the firm’s managing shareholder since 2001. He has served on the Florida Bar’s Intellectual Property Certification Committee, including serving as chair of the committee. He is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow member. Mr. Gilchrist has served on the 9th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee and is a member of the Florida Middle District Historical Society.

In addition to his other activities, Mr. Gilchrist volunteers to act as a Guardian ad Litem for abused and neglected children through the Orange County Legal Aid Society. Through those efforts, he has received Awards of Excellence and numerous Certificates of Appreciation. He has represented over 100 children in his role as a Guardian ad Litem.
