D. Simon Nicholson

Simon Nicholson has always had a heart to serve others. When he was seven years old, he and his family moved from Jacksonville, Florida, to Guatemala and later Mexico to serve as missionaries. The family focused on helping the local youth and receiving medical teams from the U.S., who would travel to remote villages to provide medical care to the less fortunate.

Living abroad and helping people who were in need gave Simon a deep understanding of other cultures and compassion for their struggles. As a young adult, his compassion led him to consider a career as a medical doctor, but after several semesters of medical school in Mexico at the Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla, he had a change of heart and decided to leave medical studies and pursue a career in law.

Simon graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in political science with a focus in international relations. He then received his Juris Doctorate from the Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law at Barry University in Orlando, Florida, as a scholarship recipient. Throughout law school, Simon attended evening classes, while working full time during the day as a law clerk to gain practical experience and better prepare himself for the practice of law.

To this day, Simon strives to serve others. In particular, he has a strong desire to help people who have been injured as a result of the negligence of others. His background in the medical field, ability to speak Spanish fluently, and passion for helping others makes him perfectly suited to help clients of Sunshine State Law Firm.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with his wife, Arielle, their children, Liam and Mila, exploring the outdoors, playing instruments, and cheering on the Orlando City Soccer Club with friends.
