Not sure wow is hired to work for whom

I went to the law office and explained my position and that i needed to get guardianship of my mother. Everything went fine until after the guardianship was awarded to me in November. I had no knowledge that i owed the law offices any other funds than the $5000 i originally put on deposit, but ...figured there would be more owed. I was not surprised when i did receive a bill in mid January. I was surprised when a week after receiving the bill i received an email asking if i intended to pay the bill or if they needed to apply to the courts for payment. I felt this was a threat, but said nothing about it other than of course i intend to pay my bill and asked about getting the Asset inventory amended. I was told yes they would gladly do that for me. Two weeks after reviving the bill i stopped by the office to pay the bill by credit card, only to be informed they did not accept credit card payments. Ok I would be back when i got a check. I was told then to just mail the check in. So that is what i did. 10 days passed and i received another email saying much the same thing, that they needed to know if i was going to pay the bill or if they needed to file with the court for payment. To say i was ticked is an understatement, this is twice i felt i was being threatened with court action over a bill i intended to pay and HAD sent in a check 10 days prior. According to the Finley the check never arrived. So one month after received the FIRST mailed copy of the billable hours and 2 days after receiving a PAST DUE statement in the mail that was marked with my being 61+ days past due, I wrote another check and dropped it off at the office in person. I received an email from Finley. No apology for the incorrect billing information, no comment on the filing of the amended but she did comment on my send an angry email to the office. I replied laying out my reason and case for the false information and the reason i was ticked.. and I apologized if i offended anyone in the email (no profanity was used). My last email from her was her telling me to find another attorney. Which is ok with me. I don't like my character being attacked or being threatened with court action. Not saying she is a bad lawyer, mine was a simple case. But she does not make things clear to someone who is not part of the legal system and will not admit that there was a problem on her end. Easier to blame me i guess. <shrug>
