If I could give zero stars I WOULD. After four LONG AND UNACCEPTABLE years, my car accident case is finished. No thanks to anyone at The Law Offices of Michael B. Brehne, P.A. Except for Monica Pasteur. This office is the WORST to work with during a car collision. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. NEVER DO IT.... SAVE YOURSELF. They are rude. Incompetent. Unstable. And they truly do not want the best for their clients. Except for Monica. On a case that took 4 years to resolve, of those 4 years where their other paralegal, JR, could not compete the tasks he had promised, Monica was able to complete it within 8 months. Even in that, I would not recommend them TO ANYONE. If Monica were to move to another office, at that point then I’d recommend the office she’s working in but no, not the Law offices of Michael Brehne. Michael was the worst and most rudest lawyer anyone could have the opportunity to speak with. Machismo is written all over him. I’m saving you by saying, DO NOT go with them. That is all.

Here is a recap of my experience. I hired Michael Brehne and his firm in July of 2011. I paid Mr. Brehne all the legal fees up front, in cash, because he would not start my case until my check cleared. I was then contacted by Melissa, who was assigned as my attorney for my case. She didn’t respond to... several emails of mine requesting information throughout the following months. Then in February, I received a call by Melissa telling me she had left the firm and was handed my file by Mr. Brehne. She told me she found another attorney that would finish my case with no additional fees or my other choice would be to find another attorney on my own. I then called Mr. Brehne to ask him what was going on. He confirmed that Melissa left his firm. He stated that my case was not his area of expertise but he would take my case over if I wanted him to. He then told me that I could request that Melissa continue to handle it. I would have expected that Mr. Brehne would have been the first person to call me himself to explain what had happened and to provide me with options on how to move forward. I was concerned as to why my file left his offices before I had made a decision about who would handle my case. It was removed without my consent and given to a former employee. The way this matter was handled, I felt I had no choice but to hire another firm. After receiving my case file from Melissa, I found that the original contract was in the file too. This did confirm for me that hiring another firm was the right option. After sending Mr. Brehne a letter explaining how dissatisfied I was on how my case was handled and the lack of communication that occurred throughout the previous months, he sends me $500 of the $3,500 I gave him back in July to help with the cost of my new lawyer. This experience has cost me a great deal of money.
