I was told that the lawyer fee would be 33% but received my final settlement and it shows the fee at 40% how is that possible?

Was there a lawsuit filed? If your attorney filed a lawsuit then your fee goes from 33.33% to 40%. Its all in your contract. If they did not file...

You don’t have to sign it, but likely if you sign it and don’t have any assets or other insurance the case may just settle for your policy limits...
