• I was the Client of Lora Scott – Attorney hired to write and submit an appeal to my son’s sentencing. • My son lost his first appeal written by Lora Scott. He was sentenced to 3 years for DUI October 16, 2015. • She said we could appeal the sentencing regarding a Downward Departure. • I sp...oke to her a couple of times in regard what steps were to be taken. I requested she meet with my son in custody - she did to discuss options and direction with him. • She was then paid $2000 needed to write and submit the appeal. Check submitted to her and cashed October 27, 2015. • My wife and I both attempted to contact her from December 2015 to April 2016. No response to voicemails or e-mails. • I was able to contact her in April 2015. Asked for status of appeal. She stated it would be submitted in May 2016. I requested to meet with her before submission to review and discuss the appeal. I attempted to call more than 10 times - no reply. • She had stated in April 2016, the appeal would take until possibly September 2016. • We both continued to call thru September and October 2016. Still no reply from Lora Scott. • My son still in prison waiting for the decision on his appeal - still no contact from Lora Scott to anyone. • I was able to contact the Appeals Court in November and was notified his appeal was denied in August 2016. • LORA SCOTT did not contact my son, his Mother or me, with the status of the Appeal. • We don't even know what she stated in the appeal. • She failed to maintain contact with her client with updates and answers to questions. • It is November 28, 2016 and we still have not heard from her.
