Honest and Fair with a Great Staff

Steven has been representing me for the last four years regarding several co-parenting issues that had come up with my ex and child. I wish at times when I got divorced I had hired him instead of agreeing with my ex that we didn't need attorneys. From my first interaction with him and his staff, th...ey always were willing to answer all of my questions and were quick to respond when I had to deal with pressing issues that would come up with my ex. I had to go to court on two separate occasions with Steve regarding different issues, each time he was very prepared for my case. He and his staff also did an outstanding job of preparing me for the process. I will echo the sediments I have read by others regarding their experience with Steve, he is definitely a no nonsense kind of guy. He will not sugar coat anything, he puts it all out there, the good and the bad. I feel he is extremely honest and realistic when it comes to dealing with the family courts system. He also appears to have a great working relationship with his peers, which I think is very important with helping to negotiate issues to avoid having to go in front of a judge. What one has to remember is a judge just sees two people fighting, and isn't sympathetic to anyone except the children involved. There were times when it looked like we might have to go to court and Steve was able to help me negotiate a compromise with my ex. This saved me time, money, and stress of dealing with an unknown outcome from a court hearing. I never once felt Steven didn't care about my case or was just in it for the money. If that was the case, there have been many times he could had advised me differently than he has that would have drawn out my case with my ex. While I can say I wasn't the "winner" on my last hearing, which was a relocation case, the ultimate ruling in the long run my child and I actually benefit from far more than what I was initially purposing. Steve was able to show major parenting issues regarding my ex and the Judge acknowledged them to my ex and put my ex on alert regarding their proven history of controlling behavior and not acting in good faith. So while I didn't win the relocation (which Steven prepared me for, Florida has a very specific set of guidelines for these types of cases), he was able to present my case and the Judge awarded me a very nice time sharing plan that was extremely generous. Having to work with the family courts systems, which is not always fair and broken which makes it stressful and scary. So I feel Steve is a great attorney to have by your side if you find yourself having to go through the system for one thing or another. I would recommend him completely. Once last thing his support staff, Brooke his Paralegal, and Hillaree the legal Assistant, need to be acknowledged as well. They are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. All three make a great team.

Great Attorney

I will start by saying Florida Divorce is a broken system and awards dependapottamus type behavior. So be prepared for it. Steve and his staff were very good. They were very polite and answered all my questions. They never sugar coated or promised unrealistic things. They told me how it is and what ...i stand lose and advised me on the best course of action. He advised me on settling instead of going through the ringer and standing to possibly lose more or to be put in a worse situation. His honest advise lost him money considering he didnt get paid extra to go to court. Good work isnt cheap! The staff outlined and explained where all my money was being spent. I felt I was fairly charged. All and all I was very happy.

Great attorney, staff and overall experience

Mr. Gilpatrick did a phenomenal job for me. He was very upfront and gave me a realistic idea of what the outcome of my divorce would be. He never "sugar coated" anything and I always felt he gave me his utmost honesty throughout the process. His staff was great to work with, always there to answer my... questions and helped to ease a very stressful time for me. I felt I was billed fairly throughout the process for Mr. Gilpatrick's fees and always received a clearly outlined invoice for all services rendered (including time spent, what he did etc...). If you want to know you are in good hands and be able to trust in your attorney, hire Mr. Gilpatrick.
