A few months ago I was in an accident and received a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign. The accident happened at night in a construction area, and the sign was 30 feet from the edge of the road at an odd angle, which resulted in the sign not reflecting in the headlights. In addition, the en...tire road I was on was well-lit by streetlights except for that particular intersection, which was completely dark. Even the police officer who wrote the ticket told me he would contest it if it were him and specified the reasons. We made a video that night and took pictures the next day. However, never having had any personal experience navigating the court system and after several days of trying to do the research and figure it out on my own I contacted Mr. Wise. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made! He actually gave me a substantial discount because it was a good case - we had the pictures and the video - and he thought it might be a fun case to try. Seriously. I found his attitude as an attorney extremely refreshing and entirely unexpected. This was clearly not the stereotypical attorney who is just interested in the money. He clearly knew, understood, and enjoyed the law. He was very personable and genuinely seemed to care about the case. We ended up with some unexpected glitches which extended the case but he never asked for additional funds. In the end, the court date got switched to a day earlier than scheduled without either of us knowing about it. He was at the courthouse that morning and got the case dismissed before I even knew the date had changed! I would strongly recommend him, and if I ever need an attorney again (not planning to lol) or if anyone I knows needs one I'll contact him first. At least I feel like he would steer me in the right direction even if it isn't the type of case he normally takes.

My husband was arrested, and was appointed a public defender. I was scared they wouldn't do much for him, so I found a way to pay the $2500.00, and hired Mr. Wise. Mr. Wise was very good with comforting words, and empty promises, regarding what all he could do for my husband. Once he was paid, ... it was very hard to get in touch with him, even to the point of making me feel like a burden when I did finally get in touch with him. What saved my husband from a possible longer jail sentence, or worse, prison, wasn't the lawyer; it was me, and my children speaking to the prosecuting attorney that made it so he could come home. He would have been better off with the public defender !!! And we could have used the money to pay his court costs!!!

I deposited a $1,000 retainer for Mr. Wise to perform an eviction because I live in another state and couldn't deal with the problem renter and her attorney uncle myself. Mr. Wise didn't post the eviction notice in time for two consecutive months and never responded to the renter's attorney. The ren...ter stopped paying rent in October and finally moved out at the end of January. He would also never clearly answer a question about legality of the lease. He never did anything for me but reply to select emails that I sent him asking about the status. He also never returned a single phone call. Of course, he never refunded my money. Because of him I lost the money I paid him ($1,000), three months of rent ($1,800), and airfare to deal with the situation myself ($500). Don't take cases you don't want, Mr. Wise, and save your "clients" our hard earned money.
