Divorce and Child Custody

I was a military spouse and hired Ms. Amond to represent me in my divorce and child custody case. She was very unorganized, difficult to get ahold of, and appeared to have very little knowledge of family law and the process in general. She showed up to our first hearing with the judge and brought two... large law books. She proceeded to look up information to present to the judge, including definitions of legal terms for her argument. My ex-husband's attorney came armed with numerous documents and questions for me. Ms. Amond never asked my ex any questions and brought no evidence of his multiple affairs, never discussed his physical and mental abuse towards me, nor the fact that when I went home to Indiana to be with my family, my ex went AWOL from the Navy, drove through the night and showed up at 5am, banging on the door and brought our large dog and had a gun in the car and refused to leave until I came out to talk to him. The police were called and a report filed, etc. She was a complete embarrassment in front of the judge. She was so slow in filing the paperwork for the divorce petition, that after nearly 2 months, my ex's attorney filed instead. My ex was able to drain all of our accounts, block me from all access to our assets and wasn't supporting our daughter for nearly 4 months. She never filed anything to have him held accountable for anything that he did. I ended up hiring a new attorney halfway through the process and thankful that I did, but much of the damage was already done. It's been 10 years since this all took place and I still cannot believe how awful she was. Do not hire this attorney for anything, but especially anything to do with family law. She is a joke.
