Melanie C. R. Brown

Melanie was raised primarily in Bay County, Florida. She then went on to FSU in Tallahassee, Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She later attended LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center. During law school, Melanie was elected by the student body to serve on the Student Bar Association Executive Board. She was also an LSU Law Admissions Ambassador, Student Mentor, and a member of several organizations. In her third year, she was a Regional Semifinalist in the American Bar Association’s Client Counseling competition. Melanie graduated with a Juris Doctor as well as a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from LSU.
Prior to joining Platt Law Firm, Melanie worked as a trial lawyer for the Florida Department of Children and Families and then at a civil litigation firm doing insurance defense. She continues to take pride in community involvement, and she is a proud member of the Florida Bar, the Young Lawyers Section, the Trial Lawyers Section, Northern District of Florida, Bay County Bar Association, and St. Andrews Bay Inn of Court.
